Manning Memorial Chapel - Acadia University (ACD)

In 1960, thanks to the Fred C. Manning Charitable Fund, Acadia University received funding to build the beautiful colonial-style house of worship; Manning Memorial Chapel. The cross, which tops the spire, is gold leaf with a baked enamel surface. Marble and slate from Vermont and granite from Shelburne, N.S., were used in its construction and the colonial pillars were built by craftsmen in Newfoundland. The stained glass windows were created by Willet Stained Glass Studios of Philadelphia and were specially designed for Acadia University. The classical Baroque organ which is played daily for worship services, is also used for private instruction.
